I've been working recently on writing a collection of poems on addiction. So far I've completed:
My Addiction
His Addiction
Her Addictions
I am planning on writing more. The poems will be called:
Remission
Relapse
Recovery
I haven't decided whether I'm doing those three for each of the main addiction poems, or if they will just be generalized.
Hope they come out well.

These violent delights have violent ends
And in their triumph die, like fire and powder,
Which, as they kiss, consume.
--Romeo and Juliet, Act II, Scene VI
Lately it feels almost like I'm spiraling down to my old self, like a plane that's been shot down and hits the ground to explode back into the big pile of scrap metal it started out as. I know you have your own problems, I just wanted to complain to someone who will eventually actually listen.

I may look happy, but honestly dear, the only way I'll really smile is if you cut me ear to ear.

How can I sleep without your breathing?
How can I dream without your touch?
How can I hope without your smile?
How can I be me without you?
